Beautiful Butterflies

SUO Challenges has the perfect post this week!  I had just finished playing with the Rolling Quartz Technique and had die cut some butterflies!  The butterflies are all shimmery and vary in color.  Love it!!

Dahlia Fold Technique

We're making Dahlia Folds this month at Technique Time Tuesday! It's a cool little fold technique made with circles! Come join the fun! :)

I turned my Dahlia Folds into flower buds for a variation on the large Dahlia Fold Circle and created the card below.  For the large buds, I tucked three Dahlia Folds into one Dahlia Fold.  The smaller buds were created with just one tucked into another.

I started thinking about what other shapes I could use this technique on.  What about a heart?  That'd be pretty cool right? 

I was hoping to have a video for you but I'm having tehnical difficulties so instead I have a tutorial which lays out the process.

Here's my card for Mynnette!  I waterstamped on the lovely ocean colors of Pool Party & Island Indigo (reminds me of a relaxing day at the beach!).  I did the same with Wild Wasabi on the leaves.

It's becoming clear to me that water-stamping is my new favorite technique! ;)  I decided to make a flower card using the great color challenge from Stampin' Celebration Inspiration Challenge team!  They have this great tangerine & magenta color combo that I used on my MIL's card below for Mother's Day.  I added some glittery butterflies as she's all about the pink & glitter. ;)

So Worth the Wait!

The Hand Stamped Sentiments Team has a great Color Challenge this week - Summer Starfruit, Real Red, Bashful Blue, & Basic Black.  I substituted Pool Party for Bashful Blue.

 

 

Any idea what I used to make my flowers?  The two smallest hearts from the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit!  You glue them point to point. :)
